Games
Four small games written in Kon, drawn in software with no game engine. They are tests of what the language can do, not finished products.
Skyhold
A 3D block world drawn by a raycaster in integer math. Dig for material, build bridges between floating islands, and gather seven crystals. It runs at about 155 frames per second on one core, with no graphics card involved.
Controls: WASD walk, mouse or arrows look, Space jumps, left click digs, right click places, 1 to 4 pick a block, M sound, Esc quits.
Lantern Run
A scrolling platformer in five caverns. Run and jump to the door at the end of each one, gathering lights, stomping crawlers and avoiding spikes. A bot plays through every level as a test that each can be finished.
Controls: Arrows or A/D move, Space, W or Up jump (hold for higher), M sound, Esc quits.
Emberkeep
Gather embers in a comet storm. A shockwave throws comets away, which costs charge that embers restore. One hit ends the run. Its sound effects and music come from a synthesizer written in Kon.
Controls: Arrows or WASD fly, Space sends a shockwave, M sound.
Sandfall
A falling-sand toy. Paint sand, water and stone with the mouse and watch them settle.
Controls: Mouse paints, right button erases, 1 sand, 2 water, 3 stone, 4 eraser, C clear, Esc quits.
Running them
There are no downloads yet. From the v2/gfx folder of the source, on Windows:
kon run skyhold.kon --release --link kon_gfx.c
Making your own
std/gfx opens a window, draws and reads input, std/audio makes sound, and std/kit adds timers, a camera and tile maps. See Library.
